Hi | Blog Post | Momma Jane’s Cleaner

my sweet friends,

This month, I’d thought we could chat about one of our favorite things; toxic and non toxic resin cleaners!

We all want our pieces and home to feel clean, safe, and smells fresh. But somewhere along the way, “clean” started coming in bottles full of warnings, reminders to wear gloves, and ingredients we can’t pronounce. I used to think that strong smells meant strong cleaning, until I realized those same smells were giving me headaches and drying out my hands.

Today, we’ll compare what’s inside the typical resin cleaners versus Momma Jane’s Cleaner, and why choosing an alcohol-free, non-toxic resin cleaner matters more than you might think.

🍋 What’s Really Left Behind After You Clean

Most of us grab whatever is on the shelf or easy to add to the cart, usually the “common” bottles with bright labels that have promises to be simple and effective, but no ingredient list in sight. Leaving their customers in the dark with what they are cleaning their pieces with. Most resin cleaners hit us with a sharp, chemical smell the moment we open the bottle. Not only do we not know what those smells are, but we start to wonder why they need to be in there. Momma Jane’s Cleaner, a plant based resin cleaner, smells like sunshine and lemon groves; fresh, bright, and clean. Because cleaning your glass shouldn’t feel like doing chemistry, it should feel like caring for something you enjoy.

Those cleaners also need time to dry before they’re safe to breathe in or touch, but life moves fast. So those chemicals end up in places they shouldn’t, affecting our health.

In the cannabis world, most resin cleaners recommend waiting before using your piece again. Why? Because alcohols and solvents shouldn’t be inhaled. When we rush the drying process, we breathe in what we were trying to clean off.

That’s why I created Momma Jane’s Cleaner, a non-toxic, alcohol free resin and sticky cleaner made with just lemons and lemongrass. Simple, safe ingredients that actually work, without the harsh fumes or hidden toxins.

Whether you’re cleaning resin or tackling another sticky mess, you deserve an eco friendly cleaner that’s gentle on you and powerful on messes.

🌈 That’s Where Momma Jane’s Cleaner Steps In

I’m not usually one for comparing, but I do believe in educating. So let’s chat;

Simple Ingredients Matter

Them (other resin-cleaning brands):

Often flammable, alcohol based, and filled with dyes or solvents that leave behind a harsh smell or chemical film. Some even recommend gloves or ventilation.

Us (Momma Jane’s Resin & Sticky Cleaners):

Just lemons + lemongrass.

Many 420 and “reusable” resin cleaners list their formulas as “proprietary,” which means they don’t have to share every ingredient. That’s often code for synthetic solvents, artificial fragrances, and dyes that help the product look or smell appealing but don’t add any cleaning power. Momma Jane’s Cleaner is fully transparent; lemons and lemongrass, that’s it. You know exactly what’s touching your glass and what you’re breathing in.

That’s what makes Momma Jane’s different. No waiting, no worrying…just a simple, plant-based clean that’s safe for the hands that touch it and the glass that shines after it.

Gentle but Powerful

Them: Harsh on skin, corrosive to surfaces, fumes that trigger headaches.

Us: Gentle enough for hands, lungs, and homes, tough enough to clean glass, wood, tile, steel, granite, and more.

✨ Why it matters:

What surprises most people is how effective natural ingredients can be when they’re pure and properly concentrated. Our alcohol free formula coats sticky messes, lifts resin, and breaks down buildup without stripping surfaces or leaving a residue behind.

Many resin cleaners rely on quick acting alcohol or butane based solvents to break down buildup, which can make glass look clean but often leaves invisible residue. Momma Jane’s uses natural citrus oils that coat and lift resin instead of dissolving it harshly. That means your glass comes out crystal clear and your next use tastes fresh, not chemical.

Every ingredient in our bottles serves a purpose you can actually pronounce, creating a safe cleaner for you and your home. No dyes for color, no fake scents to hide chemicals, just nature doing what it does best.

I get asked all the time:

“Will your cleaner really work on heavy resin?” or “Can I use it on things other than glass?”

The answer is YES and YES!! Multipurpose is a double win for this cleaner. Whether you’re soaking a piece, wiping a kitchen counter, or cleaning sticky labels off a jar, our lemon and lemongrass formula works hard and rinses clean.

Safe, simple, and seriously effective.

🍂 A Note from Momma Jane

One thing I’ve learned as a parent is that traditions don’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. Even as a little girl, I dreamed about being a mom; I love the idea of creating magical holiday moments for others, to me it feels like pure joy.

Growing up, the women in my family would get together in the kitchen to bake our favorite winter desserts with my mom and I. We made fudge, cookies, magic bars, & anything that filled the house with warmth and chocolate. Everyone would bring their own ingredients and recipes, and the kitchen always smelled like butter, sugar, and laughter.

I’ll never forget one baking day when I was in charge of adding the ingredients into the fudge. In my very limited experience, I assumed the ingredients were always listed in the order you used them. Well… not in this special family recipe. The steps were all out of order, and I didn’t bother to read ahead to the directions.. (reading is important my friends). By the time I realized my mistake, I’d ruined an entire batch. I felt awful and let it steal the joy from the day, sulking in my room while everyone else kept baking. I missed out on the rest of that day’s memories.

I think back to that day a lot, especially when life feels a little fuzzy or messy. It’s my reminder that even when we mix things up or make mistakes, there is still a chance to have a sweet moment after. To find the self love and courage to show back up and continue to try again or move on.

Family Traditions | Thanksgiving Memories | Cleaner Blog| Momma Jane’s Cleaner

This time of year automatically reminds me of food and family. Not the picture perfect table or the stress of making everything “just right,” but the simple gift of having the people you love gathered around. The laughter that spills louder than the gravy boat, the kids sneaking marshmallows off the sweet potatoes, and the stories that somehow feel warmer than the food itself. This picture is from one of our favorite Thanksgiving we hosted in our garage with our friends who became family!

Somewhere between comfy pants and belly laughs, I realized that the magic of the holidays isn’t found in perfect decor or the best side dish, it’s found in caring for the space that holds those memories. That’s why I care so deeply about what I clean with. The same counters that hold the turkey also hold sticky little fingers, late-night leftovers, and the kind of moments we’ll carry long after the dishes are done.

So here’s my encouragement: keep it simple. Choose safe, gentle, powerful cleaning that lets you focus on the company you’re with instead of the chemicals on your table. 💛

🌈 Don’t Forget to Refill Before the Busy Season

Between baking days, sticky candy hands, and another busy season in full swing, this is the perfect time to stock up on refills. Having your cleaner ready means less running out mid-mess and more time spent enjoying the good parts; like post dinner laughs or cozy hits in a clean piece.

Refills don’t just save you time; they save plastic, shipping, and waste. Each refill helps reduce single use packaging and keeps our bottles working longer, just the way we like it. A small choice that makes a big difference, one clean at a time.

🍋 Pro tip: One refill can top off your dropper or make several all purpose cleaners,  giving you dozens of safe, lemon-powered cleans for your home and glass pieces.

If this season has you juggling family, food, and a few sticky moments, just remember you’re doing amazing, Momma. Clean doesn’t have to be complicated. Just a few drops of lemon love go a long way.
